Review: The Pirates Wish by Cassandra Rose Clarke

15714476
After setting out to break the curse that binds them together, the pirate Ananna and the assassin Naji find themselves stranded on an enchanted island in the north with nothing but a sword, their wits, and the secret to breaking the curse: complete three impossible tasks. With the help of their friend Marjani and a rather unusual ally, Ananna and Naji make their way south again, seeking what seems to be beyond their reach.

Unfortunately, Naji has enemies from the shadowy world known as the Mists, and Ananna must still face the repercussions of going up against the Pirate Confederation. Together, Naji and Ananna must break the curse, escape their enemies — and come to terms with their growing romantic attraction.

I'm a big fan of Pirates, so I was really excited to learn of this series. This second novel picks up where the first one left off with Naji and Ananna on the Isles of the Sky. Ananna has figured out that she's in love with Naji, but she doesn't think that he'll ever lover her because she's rather plain and he's in love with a beautiful woman who's a b****. This book is chock full of amazing characters. I love the Manticore, and Marjani (yay, another book with gay couples) and Jeric even though he's a jerk.

I LOVE how Naji and Ananna break the curse (because we all know they're going to). It was random and kind of weird, but it fit. You'll find no complains here. I kind of like that it all happened on accident too. I enjoyed watching Naji and Ananna's relationship progress, and I also love that it's not the full focal point of the book, there's a nice balance between romance novel and pirate plot.

Two thumbs up and 4 stars!!
